A Fragrant Stopover by L’Oréal in the Boarding Area

L’Oréal Travel Retail has teamed up with Extime JCDecaux Airport and Extime Duty Free Paris to roll out its “Little Scented Luxuries” campaign in the boarding areas of Paris Aéroport, with a clear ambition: to reinvent accessible luxury.

A Travelling Concept in the Heart of the Boarding Areas

From 10 February to 9 March, five travelling trolleys inspired by Parisian patisseries engaged with passengers in the boarding areas of Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports. Their mission: to showcase limited-edition fragrances specially designed for travel.

Conceived as high-end dessert carts, these trolleys borrowed all the visual cues of a patisserie: elegant glass cloches, refined staging, and a palette of delicious, pastel-inspired colours. Under the glass domes, Lancôme, Mugler, Armani and YSL fragrances were presented in travel-size formats, displayed like macarons in a haute confectionery window.

A Personalised Experience for Travellers

Passengers were invited to discover, test and select their favourite fragrance. They could also personalise their bottle with decorative charms, ranging from each brand’s iconic symbols to motifs inspired by Parisian landmarks, creating a unique scented souvenir to take on board.

“Souvenir Parfumé”: A Refillable, Sustainable Format Aligned with New Traveller Expectations

Available in these pop-up boutiques, the refillable travel sizes are part of the Refill Movement initiated by L’Oréal in Travel Retail. “Souvenir Parfumé” is positioned as a refillable and sustainable product designed to be kept, refilled and reused, rather than as a one-off purchase.

With Little Scented Luxuries, L’Oréal is responding to changing customer expectations: 32% of fragrance shoppers now prefer smaller, more practical and versatile formats.

By capitalising on a moment of availability in the boarding area, this immersive experience, blending high-end perfumery with the visual codes of French confectionery, showcases an innovative format, maximises conversion, and offers passengers a sensory and artistic interlude before their flight.
