The Musée des Arts Décoratifs showcases the royal Thai clothing evolution at Paris Aéroport
The Musée des Arts Décoratifs is showcasing its new exhibition “La mode en majesté. Royal Thai dress from tradition to modernity”, to passengers at Paris Aéroport.
An exhibition celebrating Franco-Thai relationships
From 13 May to 1 November 2026, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is presenting a unique exhibition that traces the history and traditions of the Thai court through its clothing. Exceptional pieces from the royal collection, including several outfits worn by Queen Sirikit and designed by Pierre Balmain, are on display. The exhibition features more than a hundred costumes and accessories, highlighting the eight main styles of traditional Thai attire, designed by the queen in collaboration with historians and local designers.
As a result of a collaborative effort among several cultural institutions, the exhibition showcases the richness of Thai craftmanship: weavings, embroidery, fine silk, jewellery and ceremonial accessories come together to create a spectacular panorama of elegance at the court. As part of the celebrations marking the special diplomatic ties between France and Thailand, it pays tribute to the unique relationship between Queen Sirikit and French fashion houses and highlights the role of fashion as a vehicle for cultural dialogue, influence and modernisation.

The airport media: the gateway to Paris
At the heart of the cultural and cosmopolitan ecosystem embodied by the French capital, Paris Aéroport is the leading contact medium for reaching both French and international audiences from their very first steps in Paris. To support the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, a bespoke DOOH campaign was deployed in the arrivals areas of terminals 2E and 1 at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, positioned as close as possible to passenger flows. The aim: to capture travellers’ attention at the key moment of their arrival and turn this first point of contact into a concrete intention to visit.
Designed as a true media experience, the Museum’s campaign seamlessly integrates into the passenger journey. It provides the institution with high-quality, targeted visibility by combining the prestige of the exhibition with the power of Extime JCDecaux Airport’s digital network. The exhibition thus begins at the airport, extending the Museum’s world beyond its walls and inviting travellers to experience, in the heart of Paris, a unique moment of discovery around the art of Thai clothing.
